Saturday - we went to the International Organic Food & Wine Festival at the harbourside in Bristol. Was absolutely fab - loads of yummy tasters and heaps of freebies - tons of Green and Blacks and other goodies. We got there bang on 10am as it started and it was heaving! Queued for ages for the free ferry to take you across to the other side where the other half of the festival was. Was even busier over there. Had gorgeous organic lunch and then mooched around Broadmead, poking heads in The Works and various other places but didn't buy anything other than pants for Charlie!
Sunday - went to my parents new house. Absolutely gorgeous. They've bought a house in a tiny village in Oxfordshire that backs onto a lake nature reserve. Come out of their front door, walk down a small path and in about 10 metres you are at the lakes. Had a fab lunch, walked around the lakes - saw deer, coots and massive fish and then we went to look at two other houses for sale. Sorely tempted to move and get foot back on evil property ladder. Charlie adored it there - and wanted to move immediately. Very idealic.
Today - he's done most of his "normals" and will finish his science, read alouds and maths when we get back from the dentist. Oh an Ikea :) Thought we'd pop in for a mooch.
Tomorrow our local home ed group re-starts and we can't wait to get back into the swing of things. Charlie is desperate to see his friends again and needs some socialisation!
Been thinking a lot recently about how to change/reorganise how we do stuff here and about what "extras" to get him involved with. Might do a long blog later about it all - good to think aloud.
