Had some rather good Maths moments after the last week - very much surprisingly! Today he even did two pages of Miquon orange on fraction stuff, which was pretty dificult. He got it all right though and understood it all and claimed he likes multiplication now!! Excuse me whilst I pick myself up off the floor.

We spent the weekend hunting down dog food for the pup. Not only is the food he's on incredibly expensive ( new age fangle dangled raw stuff with non additives in etc) there are also supply problems with the manufacturers. Eventually found a company in Aylesbury that will deliver 3 cases for free and they are cheaper than the pet shop whom had run out.

Charlie's busy making a K'nex model atm - pretty complicated one at that, before he's off to gym club.

You Are 50% Boyish and 50% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

Busy Week Again

Both employed work and business wise - some exciting developments there including a new name and new *big* long term plans. If it all pans out, it will help ensure home ed is secured for the future and will be very exciting.

We had a lovely time yesterday at Twycross Zoo with Sarah,Dino and Mimi aka I think you're bonkers blog - took some lovely photos which I'll post later.

Nine Million Bicycles

Is it a crime to just be listening to a cd you received for christmas? Anyway, tis a fabulous cd, enjoying it lots.

I've just experienced the most bizare thing ever with Charlie, something that I never, ever believed would happen. After the usual hissy fit about getting on with some work he did his usual two pages of Premier Maths. I then asked him to do a page in his Miquon Orange book. It was multiplication and adding. Five minutes later he was back finished, and hadn't used his rods or asked Bev for help!!! I nearly fell off my chair as I had thought it would be way beyond his capabilities. I decided to double check a few of the sums verbally and he still got them all right! I never believed I would see the day when he could do mental maths however basic. I'm thrilled for him. He then astounded me even more by asking to do some maths flashcards!

Work again as usual today plus the weekly shop which I did alone whilst Charlie stayed at home with Bev. Whilst I was gone he managed two pages of maths and a page of spellings.

I bought some bits and pieces for V-day tomorrow for Bev, mainly a load of pampering stuff, mini Baileys and lovehearts - well you have to be cheesey on your first V-day together don't you?

Puppy seems to be putting weight on after the little scare at the vets last week which is good.

Been spending a lot of time over the last week planning stuff for our Florida holiday in November. Found an amazing car hire deal - a nice 4 x 4 for £184 for 3 weeks inc Sat Nav, which was pleasing. Got a few surprises booked up for Charlie like having dinner with a Killer Whale - oh how he loves Shamu!

Downstairs loo will hopefully be fixed tomorrow - some guy is coming with a jet thingy as they reckon there is building rubble in the drains/pipes. Oh the delights of a new build.

Things are starting to get back to normal here, I am mostly recovered except for pretty much continual headaches that come and go throughout each day. Being laid up for 2 weeks has had its bonuses though - I've lost a stone.

I dragged myself out of the house on Thursday and we went into town and had a lovely lunch in a cafe we discovered. Charlie had the most gorgeous caesar salad with bits of chicken and bacon - it was yummy and huge portions. We then did some sorting out at the bank, and mooched around the shops a little, buying Charlie 3 tops in Gap. He was thrilled to get one with a sailing ship on - still obsessed with all things nautical and sea life -like that boy.

I got tired quite quickly so we came home although we returned to town on Friday, and we all got new clothes and the dog got food,a whistle and a new toy. Had a rather nice cake and drink stop in the M&S cafe.

Charlie has been so good the last two weeks whilst I've been ill. Predictably he's had very little attention but has dealt with it well.

We spent some time together yesterday afternoon tidying up all his toys/books etc and finally finding places for his large xmas presents. He very sensibly decided which things to get rid of that he no longer played with and the end result is that it all fits nicely on his shelves now. He does need a new bookcase though as his non-fiction books are taking over and there is no more room for anything.

I sorted out all his workbooks too, recycling the ones he has completed and designating a tray for all the ones he is currently using. I added a couple of pencils, a sharpener, ruler and a rubber to that tray and he now has everything he needs on a daily basis in one place. Much easier for him to just bring the whole tray downstairs that way.

He's drawing on the computer at the moment using "Paint" and is getting really angry and upset that he can't make it do what he wants it to. Sigh. He has such frustration issues!
