Rang the ISP today...

Me: I've been waiting 20 days for my broadband access to go live, could you please tell me how much longer it will be?
Moron employed by ISP: Ermm,,, ahhh.....ermmmm well the marker went on the line today and thats BT's fault cos they wont let us put a marker on straight away so it'll be at least another 14-20 days.
Me: Hmmm, ok but when I called you 2 weeks before I moved to ask how long it would take, you said it would be a week after we moved. Then when I called the day before the move to check progress I was told it would be 10 days.
Moron: ermmmm,,,,ermmm ahhh
Me: Then when I moved I rang again and you said 20 days and thats today! I dont appear to be able to access the net today.
Moron: Ermmmmmmmmm
Me: So if it is going to be another 20 days can you tell me what I need to do to cancel my contract with you for my landline and broadband because I just can't keep waiting. I explained before that I do legal work and our clients don't like waiting for the work to be e-mailed to them.
Moron: Well now the marker is on the line we can't remove it for at least 14 days so you wouldnt be able to get another company to take it over anyway
Me: Arrrgggghhhhhhhh

Utter bastards!

may come in useful - I suggest you ring back and ask for a supervisor and mention the complaint you are making.

I can so sympathise, it took us nearly a month and *lots* of phonecalls to our ISP before we got broadband back when we moved and we had been told 7 days....
Hope you're sorted with it soon.
