Tuesday

We were supposed to be going to visit the Puddles today but being ill put paid to that. Charlie not overly impressed but understanding when I explained.

He managed more of 2B today, just a page though, the bigger sums look daunting to him and even though he hasn't yet freaked out about them out loud, I think he is in his head. He looks and then assumes that he can't do them I think. But he did and got them all correct which led to more beaming smiles. He did normals and then helped me with parcels and weighing as usual and then seemed to play with his brio train set and read for the rest of the afternoon. Oh and he added some more detail to his schooner.

He also helped me get dinner ready and when I pulled the casserole out of the oven two and a half hours later, we discovered that the oven had obviously died. When I first put it on we thought it was going to catch fire as we could see orange flickering right at the back through a whole next to the fan. So that was great, having no dinner! Charlie got himself cereal and toast I think and I was forced to break my diet and have toast too. It was too late at this point to do anything else as all the meat etc was frozen. It also meant he had to miss Scouts, I wasn't impressed but he was ok about it.

After almost six months of almost no sleep every night, I've decided to finally give in and go to the doctors and get some sleeping tablets. Neither herbal stuff nor nytol have worked. Just need to make the time to go now.

you are spoiling us with all this blogging. glad that the maths seems to be racing away. it shouldn't really matter, but somehow it does!

and commiserations regarding insomnia. it was fertility treatment that ruined forever my sleeping. not quite so bad now, but easily thrown completely by the wrong thought

He's very aware that if he wants to be able to go to uni/college, his maths skills have to improve, and turning 10 seems to have been a great motivator as he realises time is running out!

I did wondered if the steroids etc for the fertility treatment have had any part in my increasing insomnia. I've always had it since a child, but last night I managed the grand total of 15 minutes sleep at 4am! Its definitely at its worse now than ever before.
