Weekend

Yesterday Charlie got stuck into some maths as we realised that he'd been forgetting to do any after his SL! I nearly made the mistake of reminding him that Amelie was on the same book as him but gladly managed to engage brain before speaking! I think now he's 10 that would too much for him to handle. He got really frustrated with the pattern pages mainly I think because he just couldn't see the point (have to agree) but I was very impressed that he got the bigger subtracting sums right because this time last year there is no way that would have happened!

So he did about 12 pages of 1B and then settled down to more airplane making. I must remember to photograph them all tomorrow - they look very pretty and he is loving this kit. It's kind of interesting even for me to see how well each different type flies. I *might* get him to make some kind of table of results and measure how far each one flies.

Today he went to my parents for a few hours over lunch time and did the RSPB bird watch whilst he was there as they loads of bird feeders and tables. Apparently he crouched under their outside table which had a waterproof cover for it so he could be in a hide :) Stayed there under the table for an hour apparently! He was really thrilled that I remembered to remind him this year but apparently we need some kind of code to put the results in.

When we got back home he made more airplanes, flew more airplanes and had a cry about something, not sure what but possibly a hormonal wobble connected to being 10. He also made a tent in his bedroom and played in there for a while before shower, dinner and bed.

planes sound good. you don't need a code to put in birdwathc, but will have to register
